Who doesn’t love music? We all does isn’t it! Even, there are many of us who love to sing at leisure time, be it inside the bathroom or anywhere else. But how many of us really know the other side of music – the healing power of natural music? Yes, I am talking about the music therapy which has been there from ancient times to heal various kind of sickness from releasing the tension and stress of daily life, to an extent of providing relief to psychological patients (doesn’t always mean mad). In the present day to day lifestyle, I find more and more people getting prone to stress, anxiety, physical and mental pain, lack of decision-making skills, and due to so many distractions lacking concentration has now become a new generation defect, and with no doubt music as a therapy can fight all these issues in a natural way bypassing allopathic medicines.
How do music play a therapeutic role and how it actually works let’s take a look::
This way-old traditional therapy makes use of music to improve all over health of an individual, the best part is you can use this technique in your day to day for relaxation or to uplift your mood at a peak of any emotional disturbances. It is my own belief that listening to a music help you (as it is in my case) to unwind or feel motivated when you badly require at some point. I listen to various kind of music, be it calming or full of excitement or sometime joyful beats, it can stir memories and powerfully resonate with our feelings helping us to express ourselves.
“Music therapy at my yoga classes have improved the quality of concentration and thereby improved quality of life and helped me better to interact with others” says Dipa Karmakar – my friend, who is a yoga trainee at Kolkata.
What are the major benefits of music,
I found in daily lifestyle ::
1 Help you to change negative state of mind ::
There are days that doesn’t go your way, as a result, you come back home with a negative state of mind, have a bad feeling about everything around you. Relaxation music like a sound of nature type can change that state of your mind, just give a try – it will work.
2 Better alternative to yoga ::
If meditation is not your cup of tea than music therapy is an ideal alternative, this practice will help your mind get into a meditative state.
Especially at an age below or about 14, you cannot expect your child to stay calm and quite obviously the attention level is quite short, so many parents have a common complain for lack of attention in studies or can’t able to memorize text lessons before exam, this therapy has the power to improve their concentration power. Parents just try it out for a session I bet it will work (but be consistent).

3 Help to reduce stress, tension or even muscle pains ::
I had a regular trouble with muscle cramps and I needed a solution without intake of medicine, so I had to search for various options, finally I could able to find a answer that gave a permanent solution, not only that I kinda like it cause I love listening to music but I had to be regular and consistent treating it as therapy. Listening to music enabled me to release the tension and fatigue that I used to carry physically at end of a tedious day of work.
“One good thing about music, when it hits you. You feel no pain.”
– Bob Marley
